We’re so lucky to have Mark Carney as PM – he’s making all the right moves for these scary times. I’m never about party lines, always about the person in charge. And we’ve got a great one!

Modern Love Nov. 15/2024  by Sharon Dunn

Below is the first essay I tried to publish, and I sent it to The New York Times. The gall, right? It helped that, at the time, the NY Times editor, who ripped my story off the wire, was the wonderful Gayden Wren. Look him up, such an amazing, talented man. He didn’t know me from the man in the moon, and he told me that this was the first time he took a piece off the wire, from an unknown, for syndication. He also said that he wanted it because it made him feel something…ahh.  Never met him but  will never forget him..

Hi Everyone! Check out my recent radio interview above.

And check out AMAZING BRACE, MACLEANS Magazine. Over the years, I’ve had a tremendous amount of response from readers around the world on this one. My article supported bracing when most of Canadian and US doctors didn’t.. Now braces are used widely throughout the world..thanks to my article, ok I might be pushing that a bit..

PHOTO BELOW: From my horsey days in the early 80’s with famed Jockey Billy Shoemaker, his wife Cindy and Nelson Bunker Hunt. You might remember that Hunt cornered the silver market and at one time was rumoured to be worth about $16 billion. I met them at the Woodbine Racetrack, and brought them home with me to my pad at 33 Harbour Square. I was concerned because my toilet had broken down earlier in the day, but when Bunker heard that, he took off his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and after a lot of splashing around, my toilet was fixed. This was a wild pad, big purple hot tub, to match the toilet, king size beds with lights all around, it looked like the setting for a porn flick. I bought it that way for a cheap price, apparently mine was the only offer on the place.

John Sikura, who I also met that day, took the picture and asked me to marry him. We all thought it was a lark, but he wasn’t kidding – we were married a couple of months later..what a night!
